Nickel Electroless GFN 140

An alloy deposition Nickel-Phosphorus has been result by Nickel Electroless. This deposition has different mechanical properties such as high corrosion resistance, high wear resistance, high hardness, low friction, uniform and good coverage among the hole parts especially at the recesses.

The alloy`s deposition cantinas different percentages of phosphorus which lead to different properties.

Nickel Electroless GFN 140 results a deposition with a high phosphorus between 10 – 12 %.

The appearance of deposition is semi-bright.

This deposition has a high corrosion resistance with a mild wear resistance however with heat treatment, the wear resistance and hardness will be raised. The high phosphorus deposition is amorphous and this is the reason of high corrosion resistance.

With heat treatment process, nickel-phosphide is formed in alloy composition and subsequently the amorphous structure will be changed to crystalline and cracks and porous lead to low corrosion resistance.

The hardness is equal with hard chromium; before heat treatment is 48 - 52 RC and after the heat treatment rise to 68 – 70 RC.
